Professional Bio
Dr. Mike Breakey is an associate professor of practice in the University of Tennessee Chattanooga’s Applied Leadership and Learning program. His academic career includes teaching at high school, community college and four-year college level. He is currently teaching both undergraduate and doctoral courses at UTC. Dr. Breakey is also a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and pilot with twenty-two years of military service supporting operations including Operations Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He is a combat veteran with military awards that include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Air Training Command Instructor Pilot of the Year. One interesting item—Mike and his family compete in 15- and 24-hour endurance races as Team Achy Breakey.
