2026 Request for Proposals

The Association for Continuing Higher Education (ACHE) is seeking qualified individuals or collaborative teams to serve as the next Editor and Copy Editor of its flagship scholarly publication, the Journal of Continuing Higher Education (JCHE). Published in partnership with Taylor & Francis, JCHE is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed journal and has long been a leader in scholarship serving adult and continuing higher education. 

Project Goals

ACHE is seeking proposals from individuals or teams with demonstrated editorial experience and a commitment to scholarly excellence. The selected editor(s) will:

  • Provide editorial leadership and guide the journal’s vision and strategic direction.
  • Manage the peer review process and collaborate with an international Editorial Board.
  • Ensure high standards for scholarly quality, integrity, and publication practices.
  • Work with Taylor & Francis throughout the editorial and production process.
  • Support ACHE’s mission by advancing research and professional practice in adult, continuing, and online higher education. 
Timeline
  • August 5, 2026: Official Call for Proposals Released
  • September 4, 2026: Letter of Intent Due
  • September 25, 2026: Full Proposal Due
  • October 23, 2026: Selection by the ACHE Board of Directors
  • January 4, 2027: New Editor(s) Assume Responsibilities

Receipt of a letter of intent is non-binding for both the applicant and ACHE but is strongly encouraged to help the JCHE Task Force anticipate the volume of proposals.
