Dr. Jamie Gilbert Mikell holds the position of Associate Professor in the College of Education at Athens State University. With a doctoral degree in Kinesiology and a Master's in Public Health, Dr. Mikell is dedicated to excellence in teaching and scholarly endeavors, echoing ACHE's mission to promote lifelong learning. Athens State University, established in 1822, serves undergraduate students at junior and senior levels, as well as graduate students. Dr. Mikell spearheads the edTPA committee within the College of Education, driving innovation in teacher preparation to enhance professional development and educational quality. Her involvement in the task force to revise the promotion rubric reflects a commitment to elevating academic standards, in line with ACHE's dedication to advancing higher education.
Additionally, Dr. Mikell contributes to fostering educational equity and diversity as a member of the Center for Educational Excellence and Diversity advisory board.
