Detours or Expressways:

Exploring Roads that Lead to Student Success

ACHE MidAtlantic is a supportive and vibrant community of continuing educators working in a variety of positions, formats, and organizational types. As continuing educators, we remain dedicated to facilitating student success. Often this requires attention to both current practices as well as emerging ideas and trends. Today, there is no GPS to follow for student success. Instead, the roads can be as labyrinthine as an old school map.

Join us in Greenville as we present some of the freshest ideas and successes we can find, that will help you innovate and grow your respective programs. We are searching for ideas, initiatives, and innovations that your colleagues around the region can learn and take back to their campuses for implementation. Detours or Expressways: Exploring Roads that Lead to Student Success, will challenge you to think broadly about student success, including both what works (maintaining current roads) and alternative pathways (paving new ones). We encourage sessions that promote

Topics areas:

Expressways – The roads that facilitate effective progression in enrollment and advising. What should we be thinking about in terms of serving military and veterans, as well as underserved populations?

Detours – New roads, tangents, innovations and new ways of delivery and new content areas. Some ideas include online and other alternative delivery systems, credit and non-credit program development, reverse credit, the small and growing micro-credential market, and trends in workforce development

Roadside Attractions – Those things that contribute to the mental health on any road trip helping us to brave the storm of higher education. Exploring staff training, professional development.
