Call for Presentations

The Illinois Council on Continuing Higher Education (ICCHE) and the Association for Continuing Higher Education (ACHE) invite you to submit a proposal for a 45 minute breakout session at the 2018 Annual Conference to be held February 7 – 9, 2018, in Chicago, Illinois.  The conference is promoted to all members of ICCHE and ACHE Great Lakes Region– as well as other professionals at all colleges and universities throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin & Central Ontario.

Theme:  Learning to Change 

Educational institutions continue to operate in an environment of profound and disruptive change.  Federal regulation, state financing, technology, and the changing needs of a diverse student population provide administrators and educators with opportunities to re-define programming, operations, and the means of achieving strategic goals.  Learning to Change examines all aspects of continuing higher education and the role that learning plays in both personal and organizational change and asks: How do we help learners change their lives as we manage the changes required to serve our missions?

  • New Program Development and Assessment
  • Blended and Distance Learning Initiatives
  • Administrative Operations and Innovative Structures
  • Faculty and Staff Support and Development
  • Learner Populations, Support, and Career Planning
  • Program Funding, Marketing, and Strategic Partnerships
  • Pedagogy, Technology, and Immerging Trends in Higher Continuing Education
  • Regulations, Economics, and the Changing Continuing Higher Ed Landscape

Presentation Criteria

The criteria for selection include the following:

  • Clarity in describing purpose, objectives, outcomes, content and strategies for involvement & learning
  • Adherence to proposal guidelines and requirements
  • Value of the session to the audience and the profession
  • Qualifications of the presenter(s)

(Note:  Student submissions are welcomed)

Proposal Submission

Prepare a brief proposal describing your topic and identifying the presenter(s). Submissions must include:

  •  Session Title
  •  Brief Session Description
  • Outcomes
  • Target Audience
  •  Presenter’s Name and Organization
  •  Presenter’s Contact Information
  •  Presenter’s Biography

Submission Deadline

Please submit your 2018 call for presentation proposal at 2018 ICCHE-ACHE Call for Proposal . For additional questions, please email using subject line: ICCHE-ACHE Proposal. The deadline for submissions is October 20, 2017. Individuals will be notified by November 1, 2017.

Fees, Reimbursements, Honoraria

Neither honoraria nor expenses are available for general session presenters. Conference presenters are expected to register for the conference and pay applicable fees. Presenters will receive the pre-registration rate. In addition, they will receive the discounted hotel rate of $79/night with additional costs for parking.

The ICCHE-ACHE Conference committee reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals at its discretion. Submission of a proposal does not indicate an acceptance or invitation to present.

Founded in 1975, ICCHE is the only organization in Illinois whose membership includes two and four year colleges and universities, both public and private.
