The 2018 ACHE West Regional Conference will be held at the Brigham Young University Salt Lake Center located at 345 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84180-1203. The conference will begin at Noon on Wednesday, February 21st and end at Noon on Friday, February 24th.

Alex Read
Program Manager

Alex Read develops, designs, implements, and delivers professional development programs for the College of Continuing Education at Sacramento State. He is responsible for a portfolio of certificate and customized contract training programs. In a leadership role with the organization, Alex creates a team environment that fosters collaboration and growth of the department. In addition to these responsibilities, Alex assists in operationalizing our strategic plans to meet the goals and objectives of the university.

Meddie Sims is an enrollment specialist at OSU's Professional and Continuing Education. Meddie is responsible for continuing education recruiting activities for new and existing students.  She acts as a community liaison to build upon and maintain relationships with organizations spanning all industries along the Willamette Valley. Meddie retains student records in our learning database, sustains Professional and Continuing Education’s course offering schedule and prepares and submits reports to assess student life cycle. She works closely with the Professional and Continuing Education director to ensure retention driven services provided to our students.


Steve Christensen

Steven S. Christensen started as a financial manager for Brigham Young University Division of Continuing Education in August 2010.  Four five years prior, he worked as a tax accountant for various public accounting firms.  Steve received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Utah University and his Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix, online.  He is also currently working on a second Master’s degree in Instructional Psychology and Technology at Brigham Young University.  Steve was born in Blanding, Utah and has lived in Madison, Indiana; Lexington, Kentucky; and Cedar City, Utah.  He is married to Mandy Jo Welsh from Madison, Indiana.  They have four children and currently live in Orem, Utah.

Regina Cash
Interim Director of Academic and Professional Programs

Regina Cash is Interim Director of Academic and Professional Programs for the College of Continuing and Professional Education at California State University, Long Beach. Ms. Cash oversees all the credit and noncredit programming for the college, as well as business development and corporate education. Ms. Cash is a Certified Workforce Development Professional through the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals and has over 20 years of experience in this field. She holds an undergraduate degree in Human Services, a mediation certificate and a graduate degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding. She is currently in a post graduate degree program, with a focus on higher education and adult learning.



Deirdre Thomas
Assistant Dean of Professional and Continuing Education
California State University, San Bernardino

Deirdre Thomas is the Assistant Dean of Professional and Continuing Education at California State University, San Bernardino. In this role, Deirdre provides strategic leadership in the development and implementation of various programs, including degrees, credit and non-credit certificates, summer session, personal enrichment, middle and high school programs, customized training and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the Palm Desert Campus. Prior to joining CSUSB, Deirdre was a Senior Vice President for Cambridge Integrated Services and had served in the insurance industry for more than 26 years with oversight of multiple operations in multi-jurisdictions performing risk management and claims administration for large employers.

A native of San Bernardino, she is passionate about reducing income inequality and increasing educational and economic opportunities within San Bernardino County. Deirdre’s professional accomplishments are complemented by her dedication to community service. She currently serves as a Commissioner for the County of San Bernardino Equal Opportunity Commission, is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster youth, is Past President of Lion’s Club, and is a member and past 1 st Vice President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Deirdre holds a Masters’ in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific and a Bachelors’ in Business Administration and Management from the University of Redlands.

Nicole Orsini 
California State University, San Marcos

Nicole Orsini is a project manager responsible for the planning, development, and operational delivery of all new and ongoing palliative care training programs offered through the CSU Institute for Palliative Care. Once development is complete, then transitions programs into implementation phase and oversees the delivery and ongoing monitoring, maintenance and improvement. Manages course scheduling, formatting, delivery methods with instructors, Institute partners, colleges/departments, outside organizations and the CSU Institute for Palliative Care team. Oversees the coordination of program delivery logistics, including student services. Assists in the development and implementation of promotional strategies, advertising and collateral materials.
