Happy New Year, Colleagues!
While September always holds the allure of a new start, I particularly like the promise that a new year entails at our institutions. Our students resolve to return to school, learn a new set of skills, complete a degree (finally!), or launch a new career; as continuing education professionals, we consider innovative strategy and practice which provide our students with more numerous, accessible and affordable options.
As a continuing education organization, networking and sharing of best practice is our lifeblood.
In 2018, resolve to get involved in ACHE!
Not only will you reap the rewards of professional development, but your institution will ultimately benefit through your knowledge of the best in continuing education programming nationally.
- Attend a regional conference in the spring semester! The regional meetings are a great outlet to get involved locally and become energized and inspired by what’s new in the higher education community.
- Recommend a colleague (or sign yourself up) for the 2018 Emerging Leader Institute, which will take place June 20-22, hosted by our colleagues at Loyola-Chicago. The third cohort of ELI will prove to be a transformative experience!
- Submit a workshop proposal for Newport 2018, the 80th ACHE Conference. In addition to a great opportunity to showcase innovation and success stories from your institution, Newport 2018 includes a track for scholar-practitioners to present applied research.
- Join a standing committee, or volunteer for the 2018 Conference Planning committee! If you have interest, feel free to contact me and I’ll expedite your request.
Here’s to a wonderful 2018 - I look forward to seeing you at regional events in the coming weeks!
With Warmest Regards,
Bill Boozang, Ed.D.
ACHE President, 2018
