This year’s theme, Unlocking the Transformational Power of Continuing Education, is quite fitting for this historical city. Just as the revolutionary statesman changed the future of America, continuing educators change the future of individual lives and institutions. President Rick Osborn’s theme actively addresses the power in change and knowledge. Our brilliant Keynote speakers and presenters will open our eyes to the ever-growing opportunities in continuing education, especially in this time of significant change, where knowledge and relationships are so important.
ACHE, as founded in 1939, continues our tradition in Philadelphia of relationships, networks and collaborations. Our institutional host for this year is a collaborative regional host of more than 40 institutions represented by colleagues you will see as Presiders, Day Chairs and Coordinators. This year also marks our first with the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame, and support from organizations like Graduate! Philadelphia. Packed with workshops, information and dialogue, the conferences provides tremendous opportunities to take the best home, with lessons learned in our field, and innovations to move us forward—to transform.
On Sunday night, our special pre-conference event at the National Constitutional Center is a “must attend” celebration. As always, networking, business meetings and receptions are scheduled throughout the conference. Visit our sponsors and exhibitors that support us for the latest news and information in the continuing education business, too! There’s much to learn.

Only a few steps from authentic cobblestone roads leading to the Independence National Historic Park, we have a marvelous hotel property all to ourselves, the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel. The nearby Park is home to Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, Betsey Ross House, National Constitutional Center and dozens of historic buildings, theatres, and museums. Short walks away also include Penn’s Landing and South Street, with limitless choices for sightseeing, dining, and professional and university sporting events. Feel the power of our country’s transformation as you visit this historic city and be inspired by the importance of our profession to make a better world through lifelong learning.
Welcome, too, from the surrounding states of Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and New York! If you come early or stay late, area attractions—many within an hour or two—include Amish Country, the beaches of New Jersey and Delaware, QVC headquarters, Adventure Aquarium, and New York City’s Broadway. Optional excursions and tours will be available.
Please make your travel plans now and join us. Share relevant transformational information at a premier meeting venue, tour our past American history, and enjoy the ACHE camaraderie. Bring your family and experience ACHE in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love!
On behalf of our extraordinary Planning Committee, we look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia!
