History of ACHE

Begun as the Association of University Evening Colleges (AUEC) in 1939 and transitioning to the Association for Continuing Higher Education in 1973, ACHE has become an organization dedicated to serving the entire spectrum of continuing higher education.

As AUEC, the association's mission focused on professional development, colleagueship, and personal service for administrators and faculty in evening colleges.

Belief in the values of professional development, collegiality and service continue to guide the mission of the Association for Continuing Higher Education.
