Five Minutes with ACHE

November/December, 2008

A Message from the President

Rick OsbornI am pleased to be writing my first message for Five Minutes, our outstanding newsletter. I’ve hardly had time to settle in since our Annual Conference and Meeting in Nashville, and it certainly proved to be the “grand ole time” promised by the local arrangements folks at Murray State University.  I want to thank again the 2008 Conference Planning Committee, led by Susan Elkins and Sandra Gladney, and all the folks from Murray State, the host institution, for orchestrating a wonderful continuing education experience. The keynote speakers were top-notch, and the concurrent sessions and workshops were outstanding. If you missed it, you missed a great conference, a hard one to top. But we’ll do our best next fall in Philadelphia.  (By the way, I’ve posted a few pictures from the conference on my blog.) Read more. . .

2008 Annual Conference and Meeting - Nashville, Tennessee

The consensus of all the ACHE membership who made the trip to attend our annual conference and meeting?  It was a huge success!  We had one of the highest turnouts at an annual conference and meeting in recent memory. We’re still working on compiling the proceedings, getting the photos formatted and ready for posting, and collecting presentations from some of our conference presenters and exhibitors. Please look for the Nashville Wrap-up in the new year! (in the meantime, visit President Rick’s blog at for some of his experiences in Nashville).
